Infor Announces General Availability of Its V-smart Web-based Integrated Library System

Bristol, United Kingdom, and Framingham, MA. 11 November 2008. Infor Library and Information Solutions today announced the general availability of V-smart, a new web-based Integrated Library System (ILS). V-smart offers libraries distinctive advantages including faster deployment, easier maintenance, enhanced access to system data, and reduced cost of ownership.

“V-smart has been designed with key market and customer requirements in mind: to ensure greater flexibility in term of deployment options, maintenance and system accessibility, alongside overall lower cost of ownership,” says Ann Melaerts, Managing Director Infor Library and Information Solutions. “With V-smart we offer libraries a suitable alternative to the traditional client/server ILS, with the additional benefits of a web-based system including enhanced customization options and the ability to implement the system in a fully hosted environment.”

V-smart provides libraries the benefits of a web-based system with the features and functionalities of Vubis Smart, Infor's client/server ILS. V-smart does not replace Vubis Smart; Infor continues to provide regular releases, professional services and product support for its Vubis Smart ILS.
