City of Newport in Wales Selects V-smart

BRISTOL, UK, May 18, 2010. Infor is pleased to announce that the City of Newport in Wales has selected V-smart, Infor's web-based integrated library system, following a thorough evaluation of the library system marketplace. Newport, the third largest city in Wales, will implement V-smart, as well as Infor's V-insight statistical analysis portal, to replace its Genesis library management system.

Newport's 40,000 borrowers make over half a million visits to the City's12 libraries per year, generating over 600,000 issues from its 280,000 items. Amongst its many services Newport provides Book Express, an online book borrowing service, the first of its kind in the UK, which delivers over 2,000 books per annum to users at home with pre-paid envelopes for returns.
