Iguana Live at the Public Library of Breda

Framingham, MA, August 2, 2010. Infor announced today that the Public Library of Breda in the Netherlands has successfully implemented Infor's Iguana user collaboration and marketing platform. The Public Library of Breda has implemented Iguana to replace the library's web site and to provide users with new, interactive ways to explore the library's collections and services.

"Iguana brings web site and collection together in a single, personalized environment,” says Eric Conderaerts, director of product management, Infor Library and Information Solutions. "The platform was designed with the objective of enabling the library to promote its services, while, at the same time, providing library users with innovative ways to learn about the library's offerings. A practical example of this approach is the integration of multiple data sources. When showcasing a library event, for example, the system also displays catalog entries related to that event. This type of integration, alongside a focus on personalization and content ‘portability', creates a more relevant user experience and offers the library new tools to showcase its collections and services.”

Says Birgit Jacobs, Specialist Digital Library Innovation: "Even though we were pleased with our previous website, it did not meet today's needs and requirements. The website and catalog were two different products with no direct connection. Iguana combines both environments. Now we can better meet our customers' needs while bringing our products and services to the attention of our users in a better way. The result is a website where the customer is front and center. Iguana's integrated widget technology also makes our site very dynamic. We can now regularly offer new services and easily adapt our online presence to reflect new and/or changing customer needs.”
